Gamers around the globe, rejoice, after the lackluster era of the Nintendo Wii U. Nintendo has launched a new console called the Switch to turn it all around again. At first sight it looks like a tablet, which it is, but you can attach your little controller to it. And they are called Joy-Cons, funnily named but they do fit nicely in your hands. You can also fit them in the included handgrip if you want, to use the Switch in kickstandmode, when on the plane or bus. They have motion sensors in them for tilting and aiming.
Take out gaming
The console itself, the tablet, has a custom made Nvidia Tegra soc, so it should provide plenty of juice on the go, since the included 6.2 multi touch capacitive screen has a 720p resolution. When you dock it, dock is also included of course, the chip throttles and it outputs 1080p on your TV or monitor. I’m playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at the moment, and the freedom is exhilarating, dock it, undock it, take it away, and game on the go. The battery lasts for about 3 hours, so that should cover a plane or bus trip. Nintendo has announced a plethora of games, so keep an eye out for new announcements during E3 or GamesCon.
